Fast Track to Advanced Open Water Course.

Why Fast Track to Advanced Open Water?

This course combines the PADI Open Water Diver and PADI Advanced Open Water Diver courses into one. This saves you time and US$15 and means that you get to spend more time doing what you want on your vacation rather than taking classes!

The course extends your depth qualification from 60ft/18M to 100ft/30M and introduces you to new types of diving adventure by completing five Adventure Dives such as a Wreck Dive, Drift Dive, Boat Dive (there are lots of different Adventure Dives to choose from).

What will I do?

Open Water Diver:- Throughout the course, you'll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You earn this rating by completing five pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water (ocean) dives.

Advanced Open Water:- This certification includes five Adventure Dives, including the Deep Adventure Dive, the Underwater Navigator Adventure Dive and three of your choice. (See the Advanced Open Water page for a list of choices). There is a short Knowledge Development session to go with each of the dives.

This means that during the two courses you will get to make a total of nine open water (ocean) dives. Now with bonus free 10th dive!

What do I need to start?

Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn these certifications. You need to be at least 15 years old to enter this Fast Track Option. Check your fitness to dive.

How long will it take?

The Knowledge Development sessions for the two courses combined should take you around 20 hrs to complete. The PADI Open Water Diver course has the PADI eLearning Option available which means that you can do the Knowledge Development at your own pace online before leaving for your vacation. This will save you around 15 hours of Knowledge Development whilst you are on vacation.

The five confined water dives (swimming pool) will take about half a day and the nine open water dives (now with bonus free 10th dive!) will take place over your choice of five to six part days. Most people prefer to do two open water dives per day so take five part days for the open water dives.

Where can I go from here?

PADI Advanced Open Water Divers can enroll in PADI Wreck or Deep Diver Specialty courses and the PADI Rescue Diver course.
