Why the PADI Equipment Specialty Course?
This is a non diving specialty which introduces you to the every day basic dive equipment maintenance tasks and routine care and adjustments to make owning and using diving equipment more rewarding. In addition, you'll get the valuable background on equipment repair and purchase, making you better able to protect your investment.
To get started you need to have the PADI Scuba Diver, Junior Scuba Diver, PADI Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization).
During the course you will learn the theory, principles and operation of your dive equipment, routine recommended care and maintenance procedures, common problems with equipment and simple fixes for common problems, simple suggestions for comfortable equipment configurations and an introduction to new equipment.
Although there are no open water dives with this specialty, it counts towards your PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.
