Fast Track to Advanced Open Water with Enriched Air (Nitrox).
Why Fast Track to Advanced Open Water with Nitrox?
This course combines the PADI Open Water Diver, PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver courses into one. This saves you time and US$20 and means that you get to spend more time doing what you want on your vacation rather than taking classes!
The course extends your depth qualification from 60ft/18M to 100ft/30M and by qualifying you to dive with Enriched Air (Nitrox) allows you to enjoy more time underwater on your dives, shorter surface intervals (getting you back into the water quicker), and may make you feel less tired after diving. It is not hard to see why Enriched Air is one of PADI's most popular courses! The Enriched Air Diver Specialty Certification also counts as one of the five specilaties required to earn the prestigious Master Scuba Diver Certification.
What will I do?
Open Water Diver:- Throughout the course, you'll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You earn this rating by completing five pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water (ocean) dives.
Advanced Open Water:- This certification includes five Adventure Dives, including the Deep Adventure Dive, the Underwater Navigator Adventure Dive and three of your choice. (See the Advanced Open Water page for a list of choices). There is a short Knowledge Development session to go with each of the dives.
Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver Specialty: - Two short Knowledge Development sessions and two short practical training exercises, two open water dives which will be completed during your Advanced Open Water dives.
This means that during the three courses you will get to make a total of nine open water (ocean) dives. Now with bonus free 10th dive!
What do I need to start?
Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn these certifications. You need to be at least 15 years old to enter this Fast Track Option. Check your fitness to dive.
How long will it take?
The Knowledge Development sessions for the three courses combined should take you around 24 hrs to complete. The PADI Open Water Diver course has the PADI eLearning Option available which means that you can do the Knowledge Development at your own pace online before leaving for your vacation. This will save you around 15 hours of Knowledge Development whilst you are on vacation.
The five confined water dives (swimming pool) will take about half a day and the nine open water dives (now with bonus free 10th dive!) will take place over your choice of five to six part days. Most people prefer to do two open water dives per day so take five part days for the open water dives.
Where can I go from here?
PADI Advanced Open Water Divers can enroll in PADI Wreck or Deep Diver Specialty courses and the PADI Rescue Diver course.
